CONDORCET NICOLAS DE: (1743-1794) Marquis de Condorcet. French philosopher & mathematician. D.S., Condorcet, in his capacity as Permanent Secretary of the Academie des Sciences, one page, 8vo, Paris, 14th March 1793, in French. The manuscript document provides an extract from a meeting of the Academie des Sciences on 6th February 1793, 'Lettre du comité des assignat qui demande des Commissaires pour le choix des papier. L'Academie nomme les citoyens Lavoisier, Desmarest et Berthollet' (Translation: 'Letter from the assignation committee requesting Commissioners for the choice of papers. The Academy appoints citizens Lavoisier, Desmarest and Berthollet'). Signed by Condorcet at the conclusion beneath a statement certifying that the extract conforms to the meeting of the Academy.
