ALEXANDROVNA MARIA: (1853-1920) Russian Grand Duchess, daughter of Emperor Alexander II of Russia, and Duchess of Edinburgh as the wife of Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duke of Edinburgh and son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. A fine vintage signed sepia cabinet photograph, the image depicting the Duchess standing in a half-length pose holding a fan in her hands and with foliage to her right. Photograph by Eduard Uhlenhuth of Coburg and bearing his imprint to the lower mount and verso. Signed by the Duchess in dark fountain pen ink to a light area of the image and dated 1892 in her hand.
