CHARLES & DIANA: CHARLES III (1948-     ) King of the United Kingdom from 2022, formerly the Prince of Wales & DIANA (1961-1997) Princess of Wales, the first wife of Charles III from 1981-96. A fine signed and inscribed Christmas greetings card by both the Prince and Princess of Wales individually, the stiff white oblong 8vo folding card featuring a colour photograph to the inside of the royal couple in half-length poses accompanied by their two sons, the young Prince William and the infant Prince Harry whom Princess Diana holds in her arms. Signed ('Charles') by the Prince in bold black fountain pen ink, adding an inscription in his hand, above and below a printed greeting, 'Aunt Olga…..and much love from all four of us - Charles and', the Princess adding her signature ('Diana') alongside, also in black fountain pen ink. The card dates from 1984 and features two gold coats of arms to the cover, representing the Prince of Wales and the Spencer family. VG

The present card was sent to Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark (1903-1997) Greek Princess who became Princess of Yugoslavia as the wife of Prince Paul, Regent of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Widowed in 1976, Princess Olga spent longer periods in Great Britain and was accommodated in Kensington Palace with Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, and later at Clarence House with Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Princess Olga attended the wedding of her nephew, Prince Michael of Kent, in 1978, and of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.
