The official diplomatic letter, untranslated, relates to the appointment of the Japanese ambassador Tadatsuna Yabu. Signed in black ink by Hirohito beneath the blind embossed Imperial seal of Japan and above a large red chop. Countersigned in bold black inks by Yasuhiro Nakasone (1918-2019) Japanese Prime Minister 1982-87 and Shintaro Abe (1924-1991) Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs 1982-86, both above red chops.
