A.L.S., C. de Gaulle, two pages, 8vo, mourning paper, n.p., 23rd February 1948, to General Bigault de Granrut, on his printed letterhead bearing `Le Général De Gaulle´ to the heading, in French. De Gaulle responds to his correspondent´s letter of condolences because of the recent death of his daughter Anne De Gaulle, stating `Mon Général, Nous avons été très touchés, ma femme et moi, de votre témoignage de sympathie dans notre deuil. Très sensibles également à la pensée que vous avez eu d'y associer la mémoire de Madame de Bigault…´ (“My General, We were very touched, my wife and I, by your testimony of sympathy in our bereavement.
