LEVINE JAMES: (1943-2021) American conductor and pianist, music director of the Metropolitan Opera from 1976-2016. Signed 8 x 10 photograph of Levine standing in a full-length pose in an orchestra pit as he conducts the musicians before him. Signed in black ink with his name alone, partially across a darker area. Together with a signed 4.5 x 3.5 photograph of Levine standing in a full-length pose applauding the violinist Itzhak Perlman who is seated, with his violin, before Levine. Signed by the conductor in blue ink with his name alone to a light area of the image. Also including a printed 8vo programme for a Gala Performance celebrating the 25th Anniversary of James Levine's Metropolitan Opera debut, at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, 27th April 1996, signed by Levine in bold black ink to an inside page; and further including a blue ink signature and inscription by Levine on a 12mo piece and a second bold black ink signature of Levine on a plain sheet of 4to notepaper. Some light creasing and minor age wear to the two signatures and the smaller photograph with traces of former mounting to the verso. G to VG, 5
