SISLEY ALFRED: (1839-1899) British Impressionist landscape painter. A.L.S., A. Sisley, one page, 8vo, Moret-sur-Loing, 13 th June 1897, to a friend ( ‘Mon cher ami’), in French. Sisley writes, in full, ‘Du moment que vous avez quelque chance de reussite, comme je n'ai personne specialement en vue, j'attendrai votre reponse et ne m'occuperai de rien’ (Translation: ‘As long as you have some chance of success, as I don’t have anyone specifically in mind, I will wait for your response and won’t worry about anything’.
