SWANSON GLORIA: (1899-1983) American actress. A good, early vintage signed and inscribed sepia 8 x 11 photograph of the young actress in a head and shoulders costume pose. Photograph by Gaston and Lucien Manuel (´G. L. Manuel freres´) of Paris and bearing their ink credit to the lower border. Signed by Swanson in bold black fountain pen ink to the image and dated Paris, 1925 in her hand. In 1925 Swanson starred as Catherine Hubscher in the silent romantic costume comedy-drama film Madame Sans-Gene, which was shot entirely in France and directed by Leonce Perret.
