Botero thanks his correspondent for their letter and all the good news and continues to write, in part, (spelling and grammatical errors retained) ´I am very excited with the success of the exhibition to whitch you have contributed so much. I can not tell you how grateful I am for all the interest you always has put in promoting my work. This new show I think is a better one that the one before and I hope you have a good surprise when you see the originals.....I wish I could sell you a painting directly from my studio here as you ask me but I cannot because of my contract with Godula. The prices are the same here in the studio than in the gallery in Munich, but I have been planning to send you one of my paintings for your collection......I will replace the small one you had to sell for a better one. I do not know if I can paint the Arlequin and Colombina in a succeful way but I will try.....´ . Scarce.
