DE CHIRICO GIORGIO: (1888-1978) - DE CHIRICO GIORGIO: (1888-1978) Italian artist, founder of the scuola metafisica art movement which greatly influenced the surrealists. Vintage signed and inscribed 11 x 9 photograph, the good image depicting the artist standing in a three-quarter length pose in his studio, preparing some paint at a table upon which appear various brushes and bottles. Signed by De Chirico in blue ink at the head of the image and dated at Milan, 1st January 1953, in his hand. The signature is extremely faded and only barely visible. A few light surface creases and one very small, minor scuff to the upper right corner. G Provenance: The present photograph was signed for Carlo Giovetti (1916-1999) Italian journalist in the film and entertainment sector who worked for various newspapers including Il Giorno.
