D.S., Mr. Marconi , in the third person, three pages (separate leaves), 8vo, n.p., n.d. The printed document is a galley proof of an English newspaper article entitled A Day of My Life - Mr. Marconi of ”Wireless” Celebrity, with several ink corrections in Marconi´s hand, including altering the title of Signor Guglielmo Marconi to Commendatore Guglielmo Marconi . The article, seemingly published in Household Words , discusses Marconi´s daily work, particularly in connection with wireless telegraphy, and also includes an anecdote relating to autographs, explaining that when he was employed as the Italian ´electrical attache´ to London he was paid by cheque at the rate of three shillings a day, the journalist enquiring what happened to the cheques, and Marconi elucidating ´I had the total amount transferred to the credit of the Italian Benevolent Society in London, and used the cheques as convenient autograph souvenirs (when they were duly endorsed) for distribution among my friends´ .
