URE MARY: (1933-1975) - URE MARY: (1933-1975) Scottish actress, wife of playwright John Osborne, and later actor Robert Shaw, an Academy Award nominee for Best Supporting Actress in 1960 for her role as Clara Dawes in Sons and Lovers . A scarce vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of the actress in a head and shoulders pose in costume as Mary Burroughs from the British adventure film Storm Over the Nile (1955). Signed by Ure in blue fountain pen ink to a light area of the image. Signed photographs of Ure are scarce as a result of her untimely death at the age of 42 following an accidental overdose.
