Gonne states that she only returned to Paris from London that morning and found her correspondent´s letter, remarking ´Merci beaucoup pour votre sympathie avec la cause Irlandais, je suis très heureux que vous allez faire un article sur l´Irlande et je vous en donnerai tous les éléments avec joie´ (Translation: ´Thank you very much for your sympathy with the Irish cause. I am very happy that you are going to write an article about Ireland and I will gladly provide you with all the information you need´ ), further inviting her correspondent to lunch in the next few days, when ´noue aurons du temps a causer de tout cela´ (Translation: ´we will have time to talk about all this' ).
