ELLINGTON DUKE: (1899-1974) - ELLINGTON DUKE: (1899-1974) American jazz composer and pianist. A vintage 4to printed souvenir programme for Duke Ellington and his Famous Orchestra in concert, tour of Great Britain, 5th - 26th October 1958, signed by Ellington in blue ink with his name alone to a light area of an inside full-page portrait, and also signed by various members of Ellington´s orchestra comprising John Sanders (trombone), Russell Procope (alto saxophone and clarinet), Jimmy Hamilton (clarinet), Sam Woodyard (drums), Ozzie Bailey (vocals), Clark Terry (trumpet), Jimmy Woode (bass), Paul Gonsalves (tenor saxophone), Britt Woodman (trombone), and Jimmy Rushin . Three have signed to inside pages alongside their brief biographies and seven have signed to the front cover of the programme, Woodyard adding an inscription in his hand.
