Napoleon thanks his correspondent for the pheasants that they had sent to him, remarking ´Ils sont très beaux et m´ont rappelé les croisements que j´avais fait faire à Compiègne´ (Translation: ´They are very beautiful and remind me of the crossbreeding I had done in Compiègne´ ) and further adding ´Vous etes bien aimable de penser aux ermites de Camden Place, et je vous prie de recevoir l´assurance de mes sentimens de haute estime´ (Translation: ´You are very kind to think of the hermits of Camden Place, and please accept my assurances of my high esteem´ ).
