Scott asks that his correspondent ´countenance the Bearer Mr. William Scott on his views upon an office now vacant in the Service of the Union Canal Coy.´ and adding ´I should consider it as a favour having long known his connections & believing him to be a deserving man´ . With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by a fine vintage carte-de-visite photograph by G. W. Wilson of Aberdeen, the sepia albumen print depicting the interior of Scott´s study at Abbotsford, with a desk and chair in the centre, and walls lined with bookshelves.
