TWAIN MARK: (1835-1910) - TWAIN MARK: (1835-1910) Samuel Langhorne Clemens. American writer and humourist. A brief A.L.S., Mark , to the recto of a plain oblong 12mo postcard, n.p. (London), 24th January (1900), to J. M. Tuohy. Twain writes, in full, ´I am very, very much obliged to you for the World Almanac´ . Two file holes to the upper edge, not affecting the text or signature, and with some very light age wear, VG J. M. Tuohy was the London correspondent for Ireland´s leading nationalist newspaper, Freeman´s Journal , which was published continuously from 1763 to 1924.
