PLANCK MAX: (1858-1947) - PLANCK MAX: (1858-1947) German theoretical physicist, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1918. A.L.S., M. Planck , to the recto of a plain postcard, Berlin, 24th May 1942, to Mr. P. Donndorf, in German. Planck states that he has inspected the anniversary publication of the Dresden Trade Association, and thanks Donndorf for having provided him with such a valuable gift, remarking ´The extremely rich list of lectures held within the framework of the assoiation also testifies to its fruitful activities´ . Planck further informs his correspondent, ´Unfortunately, I will not be able to comply with your kind suggestion that I should also take part in this in the forseeable future, as I am currently burdened with commitments of various kinds´ .
