The USS Missouri (BB63) was the last battleship commissioned by the United States and she was assigned to the Pacific Theatre during World War II, participating in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Her quarterdeck was the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan on 2nd September 1945 at the end of World War II.
