A good A.L.S., Paul Dukas , two pages, n.p., n.d. `Dimanche´, 8vo, in French. A cleanly written letter in purple ink by Dukas who regrets not having written his article as he should, with the limits of space available, understanding the problem created and apologizing for this, he states in part ` Je vous renvoi mon article réduit à 10 pages regrettant comme vous de n´avoir pas su mieux m´arranger pour m´éviter cette modification car je comprends parfaitement les raisons que vous m´exposez et croyez bien que je ne demande qu´à en tenir compte. Si quelquefois mon sujet m´entraine loin des limites qui me sont assignées je serai toujours prêt à l´y faire rentrer tout en sachant de m´éviter à l´avenir semblable besogne... Toutefois je n´ai pu retrancher sans devenir inintelligible que les pages que vous trouverez rayées...´ (Translation: ”` I am returning my article reduced to 10 pages, regretting, like you, not having been able to arrange it better to avoid this modification, because I fully understand the reasons you have given me and believe me, I am only asking to take them into account.
