PICASSO PABLO: (1881-1973) - PICASSO PABLO: (1881-1973) Spanish painter, a co-founder of the Cubist movement. A good vintage signed 4 x 6 photograph of the artist stood outdoors in a half-length pose, at a small public event. Picasso, with one arm raised as he waves to onlookers, is seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt with floral motifs, open over his bare torso. To his side appears his seven-year old son, Claude, and in the immediate background a number of other men and women can be seen enjoying the festivities. At the head of the image several rows of bunting can be seen and, on the platform before the artist, a model figure of an Andalusian woman in a white polka-dot dress with a shawl draped over her shoulders is positioned. Photograph by Paul-Louis of Studio-Starlet in Nice and bearing their credit stamp to the verso, along with the pencil date of 1954. Signed ( ´Picasso´ ) by the artist in blue ink with his name alone to the lower border. VG Provenance: The present signed photograph was acquired by our vendor directly from Pierre Bertrand, a specialist supplier of paper for printmaking and engravings, and friend of Picasso.
