NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS - NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS: Carl Cori (1896-1984) Czech-American biochemist and pharmacologist & Gerty Cori (1896-1957) Bohemian-Austrian and American biochemist, wife of Carl Cori from 1920 until her death. Carl and Gerty Cori shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1947 with Argentine physiologist Bernardo Houssay. A good vintage signed 4 x 5 photograph by both Carl and Gerty Cori individually, the image depicting them standing together in half-length poses in a laboratory and surrounded by various scientific instruments and utensils. Signed by both in fountain pen inks with their names alone to the head of the image. Together with Bernardo Houssay (1887-1971) Argentine physiologist, co-recipient of the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, 1947. Blue ink signature ( ´B A Houssay´ ) and autograph sentiment of five lines, in Spanish, ´Que la antigua y noble Denmarca y su pueblo ejemplar disfruten de paz, prosperidad y plena felicidad´ (Translation: ´May ancient and noble Denmark and its exemplary people enjoy peace, prosperity and complete happiness´ ) on a 4 x 5.5 card with a newspaper portrait of Houssay neatly affixed, dated 10th December 1947 in his hand (two days before delivering his Nobel lecture).
