Autograph envelope signed, the small oblong 8vo envelope addressed by Matisse to Monsieur Dagron in Nice and postally cancelled at Paris, 14th May 1946. Signed ( ´H Matisse´ ) by the artist in the return address to the lower left corner, also providing the address of his apartment at 132 Boulevard Montparnasse, Paris, in his hand. Together with an almost identical (unsigned) envelope bearing a typed address to Monsieur Dagron at Rue Deloye, Nice, and postally cancelled at Vence, Alpes-Maritimes, 26th December (year indistinct). Further including a telegram (received copy) sent by Matisse to Dagron in 1944, stating, in full, ´Sauf avis contraire vous attendrai dimanche quinze heures´ (Translation: ´Unless otherwise advised, I will wait for you on Sunday at 3 p.m´ ).
