BURROUGHS EDGAR RICE: (1875-1950) - BURROUGHS EDGAR RICE: (1875-1950) American Author, creator of the jungle hero Tarzan. D.S., E R Burroughs , being a signed cheque, Los Angeles, 21st November 1938. The partially printed cheque, completed entirely in Burroughs´s hand, is drawn on the Citizens National Trust and Savings Bank and made payable to the Studio Music Shop for the sum of $5.50. An ink bank cancellation only slightly affects the initials of the signature. Together with four vintage unsigned 9.5 x 7 Front-of-House stills for various Tarzan films, issued for release in Brazilian cinemas, three of the images featuring Johnny Weissmuller in costume as Tarzan.
