Gounod has signed and inscribed the autograph musical score to the first page ` A mon amie Madame Paul Poirson - Ch. Gounod´, and to the center of the page entitles his work ` Prière´ (” Prayer ”). Gounod has neatly and very cleanly penned to the second and third pages, the inside pages of the bifolium, fourty-six bars of music for piano, in two staves, annotating to the heading and also on multiple occasions the tempo `Moderato... Crescende e accelerando... Plus lent... ´, also adding below the lyrics, stating in part ` Ah! Si vous saviez comme on pleure de vivre seul et sans foyers quelque fois devant ma demeure... Si vous saviez que je vous aime surtout si vous saviez comment! Vous entreriez peut-être...´ A complete and very fine piano musical score. VG Seymourina Poirson (1846-1931) born Cuthberg. A wealthy heiress, Salonnière and Philanthropist. Spouse of Paul Charles Poirson (1836-1895) French author and librettist who worked on several of Gounod´s librettos.
