CELIBIDACHE SERGIU: (1912-1996) - CELIBIDACHE SERGIU: (1912-1996) Romanian Conductor, Composer and musical Theorist. He was the principal conductor of multiple leading orchestras such as the Berlin Philarmonic or the London Symphony orchestra. Celibidache categorically refused to release his performances on commercial recordings during his lifetime, claiming that a listener could not have a ”transcendental experience” outside the concert hall. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. Attractive signed 5.5 x 8 photograph, being a musical programme page, the artistic image depicting the Romanian composer in a half-length conducting pose during a rehearsal.
