A rare vintage signed and inscribed sepia 6.5 x 9 photograph of Eisenstein in a head and shoulders pose. Signed in dark fountain pen ink to a largely clear area at the base of the image, ' Avec respect profonde pour l'effort serieux de ''Photo Cine'', S. Eisenstein' and dated Paris, November 1929 in his hand. Some surface creasing to the edges and with a small area of paper loss to the upper right corner, G Photo Cine was published between 1927 and 1929 and was a magazine intended for a cinema loving and cultured public, aiming to promote works of quality, to defend avant-garde cinema and to have cinema accepted as an art in its own right.
