An excellent vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of the young, iconic actor in a head and shoulders pose wearing a dark sweater. Photograph by Floyd McCarty for Warner Bros. and bearing his credit stamp to the verso, which also features a second stamp approving the photograph and bearing the date 26th May 1955, the same year in which Dean starred in Rebel Without a Cause and East of Eden . Signed by Dean in purple fountain pen ink to a light area at the head of the image, ´To Dorothy, My sincere wishes, James Dean´ . Signed photographs of Dean of this quality are extremely rare owing to his tragically early death at the age of 24 in a car accident. A couple of very light, extremely minor corner creases, VG Provenance: The present signed photograph is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by RR Auction in August 2011.
