MESSIAEN OLIVIER: (1908-1992) - MESSIAEN OLIVIER: (1908-1992) French Composer and Organist. Messiaen was made prisoner of war on the fall of France in 1940 during which time he composed his Quatuor Pour la Fin du Temps ('' Quartet for the Endof Time ''). Messiaen incorporated birdsong transcriptions into his music. A very fine signed 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photograph by Messiaen, the Fayer image showing the French Composer in a close-up portrait pose. Signed in bold black ink to the lower white border `Vien Amicalement, Olivier Messiaen´, also dated in his hand, 21st July 1975. Bearing to the verso the photographer´s printed ink stamp. VG
