KIENZL WILHELM: (1857-1941) - KIENZL WILHELM: (1857-1941) Austrian Composer. Kienzl studied under Liszt before completing doctoral studies at the University of Vienna. An excellent signed postcard photograph with an autograph musical quotation, the image depicting Kienzl in a half-length pose. Signed in bold black fountain pen ink ` Wilhelm Kienzl ´, also dated beneath in hus hand in Graz, 1st of February 1912, to a clear area to the upper right corner of the image. To the upper left corner Kienzl has cleanly and carefully penned a four bars musical quotation which he entitles Evangelimann , his third and most famous opera, written in 1894. Kienzl also adds beneath the musical quotation the lyrics corresponding to the music. VG
