FROEBEL FRIEDRICH: (1782-1852) - FROEBEL FRIEDRICH: (1782-1852) German pedagogue who laid the foundation for modern education based on the recognition that children have unique needs and capabilities. Froebel also created the concept of the kindergarten, and coined the word. A rare A.L.S., F W A Frobel , one page, 4to, Keilhau, 1st November 1825, to the Allgemeiner Anzeiger in Gotha, in German. Froebel sends thanks for his correspondent´s long letter regarding a payment, which has given him great pleasure, adding that he had always kept the matter in mind ´but which, due to ever-pressing expenses, I have been unable to settle´ , further stating that he is very happy to accept a proposal regarding a payment ´placed at my disposal as a contribution to the living monument to Luther´ , and also remarking ´I kindly request that you send the remaining 2 talers and 14 groschen (Saxon) to Mr Blasche, Education Councilor in Waltershausen, on my behalf. The enclosed double receipts (no longer present) ......as requested, are the duplicate receipts sent to you, one of which is issued by the main cash office of the association in Rudolstadt as full satisfaction of the donor's payment´ . In a postscript Froebel explains that Miss. Rosalie Ulrich has left and is living with her sister in Jena, ´however, I will gladly deliver the message I received for her to Jena´ .
