LECACHE BERNARD: (1895-1968) - LECACHE BERNARD: (1895-1968) French journalist founded the League Against Pogroms in 1927, which became the International League Against Anti-Semitism the following year, and in 1979 the International League against Racism and Anti-Semetism. Lecache served as President of the organisation from 1927 until his death in 1968. A brief T.L.S., Bernard Lecache , one page, 4to, Rue Lantonnet, Paris, 23rd September 1929, to Francis Jourdain, on the printed stationery of the Ligue Internationale contre l´Antisémitisme , detailing Albert Einstein as an Honorary President and an Honorary Committee including H. G. Wells, Romain Rolland, Sigmund Freud, Paul Langevin, Maxim Gorki, George Bernard Shaw and other luminaries, in French. Lecache writes, in full, ´Je rentre de Palestine et trouve votre pétition. S´il n´est pas trop tard, voici ma signature´ (Translation: ´I have just returned from Palestine and found your petition. If it is not too late, here is my signature´ ). A couple of paperclip rust stains to the upper left corner, otherwise VG
