A.L.S., ` Ferd. de Lesseps ´, three pages, 8vo, Vatan, 26th August 1855, in French. De Lesseps refers to a work related to the Suez Canal which is going to be edited shortly, stating in part ` Je charge mon secrétaire Mr. Reguier de vous remettre de ma part d´un exemplaire de la vue panoramique de l´Isthme de Suez et de ma brochure sur le canal des deux mers dès qu´elle paraitra. Le jeune Mr. Reguier... n´a pas oublié sa première vocation et la vue de la Reine d´Angleterre à Paris lui a inspiré quelques vers que j´ai envoyé au Prince Albert pour les faire agréer par S.M.R.. Mr. Reguier vous les communiquera s´ils étaient jugés signer d´être publiés, l´auteur en serait fait honoré, et comme je lui porte beaucoup d´intérêt j´en vous serai reconnaissant si vous pouvez...´ (Translation: ” I have instructed my secretary, Mr. Reguier, to deliver to you, on my behalf, a copy of the panoramic view of the Isthmus of Suez and my brochure on the Canal of the two seas as soon as it is published.
