Castelnuovo-Tedesco states that he has only just learned of the misfortune that has befallen his friend, remarking ´So che per dolori simili non vi sono parole di conforto. Me credi che penso a te con accorata simpatia e con affettuosa amicizia´ (Translation: ´I know that there are no words of comfort for such pain. Believe me when I say that I am thinking of you with heartfelt sympathy and affectionate friendship´ ). VG
