POULENC FRANCIS: (1899-1963) - POULENC FRANCIS: (1899-1963) French Composer, a member of Les Six. A.M.Q.S., ` Francis Poulenc ´, one page, oblong 8vo bifolium, n.p., December 1930, in French. Poulenc has cleanly penned a two bars musical quotation which he entitles ` Concert Champetre´. With blank integral leaf. Very small minor age toning to the edges, otherwise G to VG Concert champêtre is a harpsichord concerto by Poulenc composed in 1927-28 for the harpsichordist Wanda Landowska who said she ”adored” playing it as it made her ”insouciant and gay!”. The Concert champêtre was first performed privately at Wanda Landowska's home, where the harpsichordist played the solo part and Poulenc played the orchestral part on the piano. The premiere took place on May 3rd 1929 at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, with Landowska playing the solo part and the Orchestre Symphonique of Paris conducted by Pierre Monteux.
