An excellent multiple signed T.L.S., N.Rimsky-Korsakow , two pages, 4to, St. Petersburg, November-December 1906. The document is also signed by SILOTI ALEXANDER (1863-1945) Russian Pianist, Conductor and Composer. Siloti also worked as editor for Tchaikovsky, particularly on the First and Second piano concertos, signed ` A. Siloti´, & LYADOV ANATOLY (1855-1914) Russian Composer. Signed `A.Liadow´. The three Russian Composers sign the present document, in their capacity as memebers of a committe formed in St. Petersburg, presided by Rimsky-Korsakov, to arrange a musical festival in honour of Russian Composer Aleksander Glazunov on the occasion of the twenty.fifth anniversary of Glazunov´s first appearence as composer on 29th March 1882 when he performed his first Symphony. The document states in Part `... At the present time, the name of A.K.Glazounow is the glory and pride of Russia, the possession of all the cultured world. As a symphonist A.K.Glazounow stands at the head of the Russian School and takes one of the foremost places in the musical world... The day fixed for the concert is February 9th 1907, the nearest date on which, the Hall of the Nobility (the best concert hall in St. Petersburg) is at the disposal of the committee. The programme to consist of the 1st symphony, which was the composer´s introduction to the public, and the 8th symphony his latest composition. The former conducted by N.A.
