TOSCANINI ARTURO: (1867-1957) - TOSCANINI ARTURO: (1867-1957) Italian Conductor. Renowned for his perfectionism. Toscanini leaded the Scala of Milan, The Metropolitan of New York and the NBC orchestra. He also premiered many famous operas such as Turandot of Puccini. A very good signed and inscribed postcard photograph, with Autograph Letter to the verso, addressed to Marina Chaliapin, in Italian. To the front, the Arnold Genthe image from New York shows Toscanini in a head and shoulders profile pose. Signed and inscribed `Con tanto affetto - Arturo Toscanini´ (” With much affection - Arturo Toscanini”) in bold black ink, to the lower white border. To the verso, Toscanini states ` Carissima Marina, Ho visto tuo fratello e da lui ho saputo che lei, cara bambina, sta molto meglio - e che tra poco quel male insidioso sará del tutto vinto... Voglia Iddio che mai piu debba sofrire!.. L´abbraccio teneramente.´ (Translation: ” Dearest Marina, I saw your brother and learned from him that you, dear child, are much better - and that soon that insidious illness will be completely overcome...
