Caillebotte is also remembered for his early interest in photography as an art form. A fine, scarce A.L.S., G Caillebotte , one page, small 8vo, n.p. (Paris), n.d., to Monsieur Mahé, in French. On his personal printed stationery of ”31 Bd Haussmann” Caillebotte states ` Nous croyons que vous ferez bien de controler sévèrement certains papiers marqués unis par vous et Mr. Phil.. et qui nous semblent avoir la tête d´éléphant´ (Translation: ” We believe that you would do well to strictly check certain papers marked united by you and Mr. Phil... and which seem to us to have...”) With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by the original 12mo envelope addressed in Caillebotte´s hand. VG
