Monet writes, in full, ´N’ayant pas reçu la revue indépendante de décembre, je vous demande s’il y a oubli ou perte à la poste, ou bien alors si mon abonnement est fini; dans ce cas je le renouvellerai à votre prix. De toutes façons me faire l’envoi du susdit numéro´ (Translation: ´As I have not received the December issue of La Revue Indépendante, I would like to ask whether it was overlooked or lost in the post, or whether my subscription has expired; in which case I shall renew it at your standard rate. In any event, please send me the aforementioned issue´ ). Some very light, minor age wear, otherwise VG Édouard Dujardin (1861-1949) French writer, one of the early users of the stream of consciousness literary technique. Dujardin became editor of the Revue Indépendante (a Symbolist journal devoted to the arts and literature) in 1886, and it was in this journal that his first works were published.
