KAHLO FRIDA: (1907-1954) - KAHLO FRIDA: (1907-1954) Mexican painter. Autograph Note, unsigned, to the recto of a plain oblong 8vo envelope, n.p., n.d. (post October 1948), in Spanish. In dark fountain pen ink Kahlo writes, in full, ´Copia de la carta manuscrita que entrequé a Rogerio de la Selva para que la pasara a las manos de Aleman, y que no me contesto el Presidente, desde el 17 de Octubre de 1948 (?)´ (Translation: ´A copy of the handwritten letter I gave to Rogerio de la Selva to pass on to Aleman, to which the President has not replied since 17 October 1948 (?)´ ). The envelope is, today, empty and the copy of Kahlo´s letter no longer present. Some light creasing and age wear and with a few minor tears to the edges, G The prominent Nicaraguan-born official Rogerio de la Selva served as the powerful Private Secretary to Mexican President Miguel Alemán Valdés (1900-1983) from 1946-52. During the final years of her life, Kahlo dedicated her time to political causes to the extent that her health allowed. She had rejoined the Mexican Communist Party in 1948.
