First illustrated edition of the section dedicated to quadrupeds of Aldrovrandi's major scientific enciclopedic work. Folio (351 x 248mm). Engraved title by Giovan Battista Coriolano, arms of the dedicatee Paride Lodron within architecture border, numeours woodcuts, large printer's device on final leaf, woodcut headpieces and initials (title reinforced at inner margin with small neat repairs to some tiny wormholes, occasional staining and browning, small wormtracks at top inner margin of some leaves). Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine (some staining, joints starting).
