An immensely engaging type from the early stages of the Thirty Years' War, minted from silver plundered from the cathedral treasury of Paderborn. Commonly known as the Pffafenfeindtaler ("Enemy of the Pope Taler"), Christian intended such coins to be used to pay for the services of Protestant Swedish troops, leaving remarkably few to survive down to the present in any sort of meaningful condition
