'Die Verwandlung' (The Metamorphosis), 1931, portfolio of 10 woodcuts (9 illustrated leaves + title page) illustrating Franz Kafka's famous novella, placed in a cardboard folder. Dimensions of plates: 27X36 cm, dimensions of leaves: 44X52 cm. Title page is hand-signed by the artist and dedicated to Max Brod, the Jewish writer and literary executor of Franz Kafka's work. Foxing (heavy foxing to title page, additional foxing to leaves, mostly to edges). 2. 4. 'Ein Landarzt' (A Country Doctor ), 1966, a lithograph illustrating Kafka's famous short story. Dimensions of paper: 36X54 cm, signed, dated and described. With a dedication to Max Brod from 1967.
