Along with stone and marble menorahs found in ancient synagogues inside and outside of Israel, the Ein Gedi Menorah indicates that, contrary to Hazal's prohibition against making Menorahs resembling the Temple Menorah, seven-branched Menorahs were used in the synagogue, both for symbolic purposes and as part of the ritual.
