Silver Covered Jewish Prayer Book - Jewish prayer book ”Machzor for the Three Pilgrimage Festivals, according to the custom of the Sephardic Community,” Austria, Vienna, 1820. The machzor contains piyyutim (liturgical poems), blessings, and prayers for the holidays. With an Alt-Wien silver cover decorated with filigree work of floral motifs. The front cover is inlaid with a bone carving, depicting a hand pouring water from a jug into a basin, a symbol of ritual hand washing. The back cover is inlaid with a bone carving featuring lions and trees. Dimensions: 19.5X12 cm. The silver is hallmarked. A flaw to the last page.
