Galina Mintz, aquarelle, on Arch paper 100% cotton, cold pressed, 300 g, 42 by 29.7 cm, signed, 2016 - My name is Galina Mintz. I am a programmer by trade. Almost 20 years ago, I started my second career as an artist. I was fortunate to study in the studios of high-class Israeli artists: painters and illustrators. Later I studied fusing and glass mosaic at Weitzberger College, Ramat Gan. I exhibited my art works at group and personal exhibitions all over the country. I am a member of Association of Professional Artists of Israel. I am a member of Petah Tikva Artists Association. I am one of the organizers and a member of the female artists group WAVE ART GROUP. For me, creating is an enchanting and endless adventure. I am constantly learning and always discovering new things. In my work I like to combine different materials and create effects with interesting textures. I paint in acrylic, watercolor and pastel. I also create glass works using the fusing method. I like to draw from my imagination but also from life model and pictures, I took myself. While figuring out my own artistic manner, I became fascinated with human body and the way it moves. In my works, I often turn to the female image and through it, I try to convey a part of myself. In recent years, I have become interested in decorative painting. The free language of decorative painting allows me to expand boundaries and improvise with form and material. I developed my own technique that allows me to combine my two favorite fields of art, painting and glass, in one piece.
