Sharon Gross, b.1985. oil on canvas, 50 by 70 cm, signed - Currently studying figurative painting at “HaTahana” Studio under the guidance of Aram Gershuni and David Nipo. She has also studied with the painters Ariel Assou and Dima Yuzefovich. From an early age, she studied realism and still life painting and worked in oil on canvas under the guidance of the painter Thelma Israeli. Galleries 2025–2026 — “Under 1000” Gallery, Tel Aviv. In a synthetic world of fast content, I feel a strong need to slow down and truly feel. I create emotional worlds that people can step into — nostalgic worlds with a subtle cinematic atmosphere. I love “capturing” simple moments, and I try to give form to the quiet wonder of fleeting experiences. From a very young age, I was drawn to music from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, and I used to record songs onto cassette tapes. I would collect objects in an attempt to preserve moments forever — objects I knew would eventually be replaced by newer and more advanced versions, and that I wanted to “save” from a rapidly changing world that never looks back. This is why I kept telephone tokens, movie tickets, cassette tapes, and more. I believe beauty exists in classical, simple, and unprocessed elements, and I constantly search for traces of an old and disappearing world in the things around me. I work primarily with oil paints and occasionally incorporate mixed media techniques. My style can be described as Abstract Realism — a combination of realistic elements with abstract areas, infused with touches of Surrealism. In my works, I often integrate classical and nostalgic motifs and imagery, including nature, women, birds, still life, and more.
