Women in Art - A rare set of 6 artistic silver medals
A set of 6 magnificent miniature works of art displayed on top of rare medals.
A beautiful and rare set of medals that is a real miniature art gallery.
On the surface of the medals are works by six of the best artists in the world, printed in high-quality silkscreen prints, lithographs or art prints. On the back of the medals are works by the same artists in relief:
1. Rembrandt: Face - "The Jewish Bride", back - "King David plays the violin"
2. Modigliani: Interior - "Jan the Buttern", back - "Head" statue
3. Pissarro: face - "girl bathing in the river", back - "boats"
4. But face: face - "The Kiss", back - "Tower of Babel"
5. Delcroix: Face - "The Jewish Bride in Tangier", back - "Jacob struggles with the angel"
6. Tarkai: face - "reflections", back - sculpture "sitting woman"
Each medal was issued in pure silver in a maximum quantity of 999 units. Their dimensions are 48x60 mm and their shape is oval. Embossing in a unique technique that includes the use of color, while paying attention to the details of the work.
Rembrandt van Rijn (1669-1606)
Many of the renowned Dutch painter's works feature biblical themes highlighted in dramatic flashes of light and evoke moments of deep emotion. ".
Amadeo Modigliani (1920-1884)
The Italian Italian painter and sculptor lived a long time out of his short life in Paris. He did a lot to draw his life partner, Jean the Buttern, with the elongated neck that characterizes his works. One of these silkscreen paintings adorns one of the medals. On the back of the medal is one of the artist's famous sculptures, "Head", which he created around the year 1911.
Camille Pissarro (1903-1855)
Pissarro was born into a French-Spanish Jewish family and lived most of his life in Paris and the surrounding area. Was a member of the Impressionist movement and many of his works depict natural landscapes and rural life.
Inlaid with one of the medals, in silkscreen, one of Pissarro's famous paintings depicting a girl washing her feet in a stream. On the back of the medal is another painting by the artist, "Boats."
But Penn (1963-1883)
But Penn, a Jewish artist, was born in Russia as Abba Pepperman and worked as an artist in France for several years. In 1913 he immigrated to Israel and decided to establish his permanent home in Jerusalem. Inspired by the Holy City, draw pictures from the Bible.
His painting "The Kiss" in lithograph adorns the face of one of the medals. The back carries another mourning work by Abel Penn, "Tower of Babel".
Agen Ferdinand Victor Delcroix (1863-1798)
The artist Delcroix was born into a noble French family. In 1832 Delcroix traveled to Morocco. There he was fascinated by the city of Tangier and the Jewish community and gave them expression in his works of art. His painting depicts a Jewish bride in Tangier inlaid with lithograph in one of the medals. The back of the medal bears another work by the artist depicting our ancestor Jacob struggling with the angel, in relief.
Yitzhak Tarkai (1935-2012)
Born in the former Yugoslavia and studied at Bezalel in Jerusalem. He was one of the most successful Israeli contemporary artists abroad. His style is figurative and he paints a lot of women.
On the inside of one of the medals is printed his painting "Reflections" on an artistic print. Another Tarkai work that also depicts a woman is displayed in relief on the back of the medal.
