The Exodus from Egypt is a defining event in the history of the nation of Israel and serves as a model and as a universal symbol of liberation from slavery and freedom for all of humanity. It symbolizes the free spirit, which cannot be fettered and which goes out against the evil of enslavement and human exploitation, in accordance with the phrase coined by Rabbi Kook: "Israel's exodus from Egypt will remain until the spring of the entire world."
The exodus from Egypt is described in the Torah as a miraculous event, and the parting of the Red Sea is the high point - the Israelites who escaped from slavery saw that the Egyptians were closing in on them and cried out to Moses that the Egyptians were going to kill them and it would be better for them to continue the hard work than to die in the desert. Moses prayed to God who ordered him to lean his staff over the Red Sea and the sea floor spread out at the feet of the people of Israel who safely crossed the sea and the walls of water fell on the Egyptians and thus they drowned.
In the medal, the scene is impressively depicted and embodies the miraculous transition from slavery to freedom. The waves of the Red Sea stand to the right and to the left like a wall and the Israelites pass through the sea on land. In the center, stylized letters form the words "pillar of fire and cloud" in the form of a pillar representing the pillar of cloud where G-d went before them by day and the pillar of fire by night.
The Bible has been and is an inspiring source throughout history. Its stories contain messages and lessons from which it is worth learning and educating. This unique historical set contains well-known and beloved stories. The HOLY LAND MINT took on the challenge of creating the broadest and most comprehensive collection ever made that would contain the stories The most prominent and important ones from the Bible. The front side shows the stories themselves and the back side (which is common to the whole collection) shows Jerusalem - the holy city, together with the kafir that represents the symbol of the city.
Front page design - Aharon Shebo
Back side design - Jacob Enidi
Sculpture and engraving - Tidhar Dagan
