The diary of the Bilu Chaim Chissin translated by the poet and translator Shlomo Herberg. In his diary, Chissin, one of the first Biluyim, describes his decision to immigrate to Israel, the hardships of working in Mikve Yisrael, the move to Rishon Le'Zion, the building of Gedera and more. 119 pp. Condition: Very Good. Moshe Medzini was a journalist, a member of the editorial staff of 'Ha'Aretz' and the author of several books about the history of Zionism and the State of Israel. He was the first journalist who published that Lord Balfour will arrive in Jerusalem in order to participate in the opening ceremony of the Hebrew University in 1925. During World War II, Medzini became famous due to his weekly radio program in the Mandatory ”Kol Yerushalayim”. His program, which was broadcasted on Saturday night, had thousands of listeners who looked forward to his weekly commentary. A picture of Lord Balfour appears at the beginning of the book. Condition: Very Good. The cover is slightly falling apart. A booklet dedicated to the subject of the persecuted Zionism in Soviet Russia, Magen, The Society for Helping Persecuted Zionist Jews. Tel Aviv. June 1931. The Magen Society was founded in Tel Aviv in May 1929 to help Jews under the Soviet reign. The society had 15 branches in Israel and about 1500 members. The booklet was published before the 17th Zionist Congress. It contains an essay by Prof. Yosef Klauzner about the persecution of the Hebrew language and literature in the USSR and photocopies of certificates of exile to Siberia.
